NexDay Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026 · Website: nexday.pages.dev · App: NexDay (Android, in.nexday.app)

NexDay is a free Indian daily portal and app. It needs no account, shows no ads and does not sell your data. Most of what you put into it never leaves your device.

The website

The website keeps your preferences (your name if you give it, your city, theme, language and reading position in books) in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes them.

To guess your city on the first visit, the site looks up the city of your internet connection (from your IP address) on our server; the result is shown only to you and is not stored. The site asks for your exact location only when you tap "Use exact location".

Questions you ask "Ask AI" are sent through our server to Google's Gemini service (and, for web searches, to Tavily) to produce an answer. We don't keep a copy. To prevent abuse, the server counts requests per connection for a short time.

Public content (news, pictures, scores, prices, radio and TV streams, books) is fetched from its publishers, sometimes through our server so the browser can show it. The site has no ads, no tracking cookies and no analytics.

Data that stays on your phone (app)

Your name, journal entries, tasks, meetings, expenses, mood and stress check-ins, book and music lists, and settings are stored only on your device. They are not uploaded to us. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes them.

Location

If you allow it, NexDay reads your approximate (city-level) location to pick the nearest city for weather and local news. The coordinates are not sent anywhere; only the chosen city is used to fetch weather. You can decline and choose a city yourself.

Microphone

The microphone is used only when you start voice input, voice mode or a voice note. Questions asked in voice mode are sent to Google's Gemini service to produce an answer. Voice notes stay on your phone.

NexDay AI

Questions you type or speak to NexDay AI, and text you ask the NexDay Keyboard or the text menu to rewrite, are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a reply. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy.

Notifications and reply suggestions (app)

This feature is off unless you turn it on and grant notification access. When it is on, the text of a message notification you choose to reply to is sent to Google's Gemini API to suggest replies. You can turn it off at any time in Android settings.

Caller ID (app)

If you enable it, NexDay shows the telecom circle and network of an incoming number using an offline table on your phone. Call information is never uploaded, and calls are never blocked or answered by the app.

Content from the internet

To show news, weather, markets, sports, radio, TV and search results, NexDay requests public data from other services, such as Google News, Open-Meteo, Yahoo Finance, ESPN, Wikipedia, DuckDuckGo and broadcasters' own streams. These requests carry only what is needed to fetch the content, such as a city name or a search term, plus your IP address as part of any internet request. Links you open may lead to other websites with their own policies.

Children

NexDay is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
